United States as well as worldwide.
Dear Shawn and Doreen,
Thank
you so much for coming to Indian Summer Thursday night, June 18th
2009. Your lecture and class were remarkable. The pictures
you have of full apparitions and faces in mirrors are amazing.
The negative procedure on the full apparition of that girl is
just incredible. There is no way anyone could say that she isn’t
a spirit after seeing that.

Vandalism and Cemeteries 4/28/2009 The other day PPS went up to a cemetery in Forward Township, PA. When I walked through the gate I saw a lot of destruction of headstones turned over, smashed and vandalized. I was so upset that for the live of me I could not figure out why people can do such a horrible thing. How would you like it if someone came to your house and for shits and giggles, destroy your home? All the people that are buried, this is their FINAL resting place. Spirits cannot do anything about the vandalism and I guarantee that they are saddened by this behavior. How would you feel is someone came to the final resting place for your mother, father, grandparents or even worse, your child and destroys their headstone or defaces the cemetery. You would not like that? Would you? Headstones are sometimes the only thing that can document a persons life or even state that that person ever existed. By destroying a headstone, you are removing the fact that that person ever existed. So I
have decided that when we come upon a cemetery that has
suffered this childish behavior that our group will try to
lift the headstones to the proper position and hopefully
give that person their identity back. If you have any
comments or questions about this matter, please feel free to
contact me. Thank you!
Good vs. Evil 4/22/09
I have
been in the paranormal field for over 20 years. I have seen
many friendships go south do to ego's etc. I myself have
been in a couple of them and it hurts. I do admit that I was
very selfish and my ego was sky high. I felt like I was the
best in the world and in the field. Then one day i was
smoking a cigarette and it dawned on me that I was very
self-centered and I realized that I was a not a guru but
just another person in this field.
Since Taps and Paranormal State
came out, a lot of paranormal groups evolved. With PPS being
part of the community, I have seen a lot of back stabbing,
name calling, and people seeking vengeance on others because
of ego's and different beliefs. Why cant we just work
together and find the answers. It's ok to be serious at
times but also you need some fun. PPS works that way. Our
goal is to help our clients, to teach people that spirits do
exist, and how they can live with them.
Groups and people should not be
jealous of each other but work together to find the
evidence. It's nice to be recognized but its only for that
moment or that day then its time to move on. Ladies and
gentlemen there is a war going on out in the spirit world
between good and evil.
We have been on a lot of
investigations now that had to do with no so nice spirits.
It feels to me that in this war, evil is winning. Evil takes
over our thoughts and such that it is causing a lot of
grief. Look at the fighting between people and groups. It is
unbearable. The only way that we can turn the tables on
evil is to work together not fight each other. We can do
this because we are adults and we know the difference
between right and wrong.
In closing I want to extend my
hand and my group to others and if you need help or just
need to vent we are here. I'm not trying to be a martyr, I'm
just being me. I wish everyone good luck on there
investigations and I hope you get the evidence you need.
*********************************** Letter from an Investigation:
Feb 16, 2009
Dear Shawn,
It's been almost a month since
you and your group did a wonderfully in-depth investigation. I
was so pleased to see the quality of the people in your group,
the equipment used, the sensitivity, and empathy expressed. You
stress a non judgmental approach to your investigations, and
that certainly was what I felt. I was very comfortable with the
energy I felt from the group, and felt secure in the fact that
whatever showed itself I was protected. I was especially
surprised that the group, along with me, saw the large cloud
like entity behind your left shoulder for at least 10 minutes.
When the temperature sensor picked up a reading of 52 degrees on
the entity, it was amazing! Amazing, because the temperature of
the house was around 71 or 72 degrees. About a 20 degree drop
in temperature.
I felt so much validation with
the evidence presented to me through the investigative equipment
used. When members of your group felt, sensed, saw, and heard
what I did, I felt a sense of relief. I knew you could help
me. I believe every member of the group expressed something in
relation to the fact I am living in a haunted home by many
spirits. Some were touched or pushed, some felt ill, some felt
an entity attached to them, some felt the cold spots and
recorded them on the sensor, and communication was established!!
You certainly came prepared
with people who could protect us when an entity attached to us.
Having your brother Patrick, and I think, Barb, both having the
gift to remove the attachments. I was especially surprised when
Patrick noticed a change in my greyhounds behavior and physical
state. Bob's heart was racing, and he was immobilized with
fear. Patrick picked up on the cold spots and with his hands
moving over Bob, was able to remove them. Barb noticed Doreen
was not herself. Doreen was feeling light headed and not well.
Barb embraced her until the attachment was gone.
Seeing the multiple orbs of
different sizes, and bolts of energy moving through the rooms,
was intriguing. Discovering the portals was essential. Now I
know why my grandson had never slept in the room that was
created especially for him 3 years ago. Now I know why I moved
out of my bedroom to sleep in the family room. Now I know why I
never went to the third floor. The portals are there.
Since you were here, I have
had no further physical attacks on me. You were successful in
removing the evil, negative entity/entities that were hurting
me, breaking cherished items, moving things, etc.
I thank all of you from the
bottom of my heart. I know the time and energy it took. Shawn,
your multiple visits to my home indicates a man who is truly
dedicated to helping people like me. You care so much about
what you are doing, and it shows.
Your Friend In peace and
Light,
Carolyn Dalesandry

Propel Andrew St. High School Visit Members of the Pittsburgh Paranormal Society shared stories of haunts – and heard a few new ones – when they visited the Propel Andrew Street High School on August 22. PPS founder and Lead Spiritual Investigator Shawn Kelly and Doreen Hill projected pictures of paranormal activity captured by their cameras at sites throughout the Pittsburgh region. The 100-or-so students had a range of reactions – from fascination and excitement to skepticism, and they kept the PPS investigators busy answering questions about phantoms, fakes, and electronic voice phenomena. A long-time school employee also told of ghosts said to haunt the school itself. It is known that a construction worker died while working to build the school gym, and strange and unexplained activities in that part of the school have led some to believe that the gym is a paranormal hot spot. There also are unconfirmed reports that an over-excited bingo winner fell down dead in the gym while it was used as a social hall, and that her spirit returns in an attempt to get her unclaimed winnings. Kelley said he and his group plan to make a night-time visit to the school in the near future to try to find and document the Andrew Street haunting. ********************************
New Oxford Pa
Sept. 5, 2008
This weekend PPS had the opportunity to do an investigation with a family from New Oxford, PA. New Oxford is about 12 miles away from Gettysburg. I have been coming to Gettysburg for a long time now and never had the opportunity to investigate a private residence. The investigation went well and we met new friends. I totally believe that things happen for a reason.
Our clients got a hold of us through our website due to strange happenings going on in their home. (ex: footsteps, doors banging, voices being heard in the kitchen) PPS went to their house and did a very good investigation. We ran our EVP's and took tons of pictures but most of all made new friends. The one thing I love about investigations is meeting new people and hearing their stories. Upon reviewing all evidence we did not get any EVP's but we got some decent pictures. In my conclusion I will say that our client's home is haunted.
Our evidence revealed many orbs and mist, not only in the home but outside the home. We also had some personal experiences and a face that appeared outside of the home looking in.
We want to thank our new friends for allowing us to investigate their home.
Happy Haunting! Shawn ********************************
Personal Experience and
Patients
I for one at one point of time was
totally impatient on getting evidence. There have been many of times
in which I have had some experience's out on an investigation and
when they occurred not one camera or video recorder was around to
get the evidence. I would get frustrated and look up in the sky and
ask God WHY ???
Then one day I was going on an
investigation and it dawned on me. I was taught in recovery that
there is no such things as coincidence's that everything happens for
a reason. So as investigations continued, sometimes i would get a
personal experience and a camera will catch an orb or a mist. That
picture out of 900 pic's would make the night.
In conclusion, I have learned that
when I'm out on an investigation with my group, an something happens
and we don't get it on film or video's, then its OK. I know some day
it will happen again but until then , I need to be patient.
Happy Hunting
Shawn
******************************** Joyce's Thoughts on Restland Cemetery (4/2008) Situated on 25 acres near Monroeville, PA is Restland Cemetery, a place best known for a spirit named “Walking Rosie”, although she is by no means the only ghost in residence. Rosie’s origins are a mystery, most of the stories you find online echo popular urban legends and are therefore, most likely, erroneous. Even though her origins aren’t verified, sightings of Rosie are numerous and ongoing. Other sightings over the years have involved Revolutionary War Soldiers who died in a nearby battle to spirits of those killed in a mine explosion on or adjacent to where the cemetery now stands. Before the land became a cemetery, it was the site of a single family farm. The farm house burned to the foundations, and a family member recounted to one of Restland’s current groundskeepers how he saw the silhouette of a boy in the flames. The foundation itself survived the fire and was used for the administration building. Restland began interments in the late 1930’s and in the 90’s added a pet cemetery. Although this is a small section, the headstones and momentos left echo deep love and deep sadness, a poignant addition to a landscape of loss. There’s no shortage of activity at Restland, so on April 12th, we headed out with high hopes. Accompanying the group was Joe, a representative from the paranormal “webzine”, www.Visonsonline.com. Although Joe professed himself a skeptic, he kept an open mind and his camera at the ready. Upon arrival, we split into two teams to allow us to cover more of the huge graveyard. Early in the evening, we met members of Steel City Investigators of the Paranormal, a new local group also visiting Restland on a hunt that night. They’re nice people, we hope to see more of them in the future and wish them luck with their investigations. Although we’re still going over all the physical evidence collected (possible EVPs, reviewing all the images caught on various cameras), a number of us had personal experiences, including: ° Several of us spotted a shadow person at the nearby tree line following us. The presence never seemed menacing, just curious. Oddly enough, I once spotted him darting from tree to tree, almost like a child hiding. The entity followed us until we were far clear of the tree line. ° A number of us entered an area with a hedge fence surrounding it. This is a family plot, and the air inside that area feels quite charged. One of our members reported a small “shove” when no one was nearby. Again, not something with evil intent, more of a way of a presence making itself known. ° Another person in the group caught sight of a man and woman standing inside the hedge area. The woman was dressed suggesting a 1910-1920 era look. The man was dressed in what looked like similar period clothes, but seemed more plain. Unfortunately, the apparitions disappeared quickly, as they so often do, and we didn’t get a thorough look. The second group attempted to collect some EVPs in the hedge area, but every time they asked a question the wind picked up considerably and made recording a challenge. ° One of our group was walking along a path with a partner when they were hit in the head with a small rock or twig. There was no one within a distance that could’ve thrown anything at her, and no nearby trees or shrubs. This wasn’t a malicious thing, she reported feeling it was more of an “attention getter” event! ° Finally! A couple of team members in the second group caught sight of Walkin’ Rosie. We all hurried that way when we heard, but I don’t believe we caught photographic evidence. Several of us felt we saw an apparition, however. Was it Rosie? We didn’t get any identification from them. ° Our investigation ended in the pet cemetery area, where I got caught up reading the stones and suddenly looked up and found myself alone. I could hear the group, but I’d let them get out of my sight. As I stood up and began walking to them, I distinctly heard footsteps behind me, but when I turned there was, of course, no one there. This is one of Rosie’s favorite tricks, I wonder if that was her send off for the evening! All in all, we felt it was an interesting night and we did come away with many personal experiences. Hopefully, when we have finished analyzing the physical evidence, we’ll have some great photos or EVPs to share.
Shawn's thoughts....
I finally got to watch
everyone's favorite show on Sci-Fi...TAPS. What bothered me about
the half hour segment is that the investigation at
Prospect Place in Trinway, Ohio,
wasn't completely done. I don't blame the boys from TAPS because
they only have a certain amount of time to do a half hour segment.
Our Group, PPS got the
opportunity to do an all night investigation at Prospect Place. The
group and I got to feel a lot of personal experiences that night.
Sue and Aric hearing voices outside their door, I experienced a
rattling sound coming from the cellar ( like a shovel being drug on
the floor) with no one down there. A former member got pictures of
finger prints on our camera. To me and others know that
PROSPECT PLACE is definitely
haunted.
What also bothered me a little
bit is the research they did on Constance ( the girl who fell from
the balcony) They say she died of consumption but I truly believe
she fell off that balcony. Back in the early 20th century if you
committed any type of act to end your life, and if you were from a
very wealthy family I'm sure no i guarantee that they would not put
on the death certificate suicide. If you get the chance to spend a
night at Prospect place I can guarantee you will meet Constance and
the other spirits that walk the property.
This is my opinion and I only
write down what I feel. Some may agree and some might not. Only YOU
can decide what is right and what is wrong. Spend the night at
Prospect Place and you can come up with your on conclusions. Happy
Haunting. ---Shawn (4/2008)
INVESTIGATION IN CHESWICK, PA March 2008 In early March of this year, my son and I decided to contact the Pittsburgh Paranormal Society to come investigate what we believed was our ghost. I found them online and after exchanging a few emails with Shawn and Doreen I felt comfortable inviting them to check out the house. They both seemed kind and knowledgeable. Two things led me to seek their help. The first happened about six months after we moved in. My son heard a female voice behind him say “Excuse me, do I know you?” It was three AM; I was upstairs asleep, and when he turned, no one was there. We agreed that such a question seemed to indicate confusion, but we weren’t sure what to do. Shaken, but curious, we simply waited to see what happened next. Then one Sunday I was talking to a friend on the phone and heard the female voice close behind me say, simply, “Hello”. I stood up and turned to see who was in my house, and before I could say anything to my friend on the phone, she asked “who said that, who’s there?” No one was. No one was in my house; no one was outside, and she had heard the voice as clearly as I did. I decided to call in the Pittsburgh Paranormal Society. Although I’ve always been interested in the paranormal, a presence that seemed to want to communicate was out of my league. The team arrived one Saturday night and while I had expected an interesting evening, what I got was one of the most memorable of my life! The PPS team was great, they were courteous and respectful. They listened to our stories about the things that had happened, and they listened to my son and I clumsily explain the ways in which we tried to explain away some of them! In the end, we had some things that might be explained by noisy neighbors, or my cat, but a book whose cover asks “What’s a real ghost like?” that lands four feet away from a bookcase where it was firmly shelved….. well that is a little harder to dismiss. Neither my son nor I were prepared for what the team did find, although in retrospect, we should have known something was wrong. There was a negative “presence” in my son’s room. No one has ever really considered that room “comfortable”, and I was uncomfortable if the door to the room was open. There was also another presence in the room, seemingly being held there by the first. Although what I saw and felt happen is difficult to put into words, the end result of the PPS team “clearing” my child’s room was nothing short of amazing. Immediately the room felt different, almost lighter, and easier to breathe. I was reminded of something my mom said after her cataract surgery: “I didn’t realize how bad my sight had gotten until it was restored.” I had not realized how oppressive the atmosphere had become until that weight was lifted. We didn’t hear from our “female” ghost that night, but there could be many reasons for that. The negative presence required more attention, so removing it from the home became the priority. I believe the PPS team was successful in that effort. I wish we’d had another time to attempt contacting her, but I have since moved so she’s going to remain a mystery. The team conducted an investigation that was thorough; they were courteous and curious about the house and its events, respectful and kind to me and my son. I feel I need to especially single this team out for the way they handled the non-paranormal part of the evening. I was living in a duplex next to someone who is very negative and had actually been harassing me. When he saw the team arrive (watching me was part of his general creepiness) he became very confrontational and angry because they wanted to photograph the outside of the house. The entire team treated him with courtesy and remained calm, effectively diffusing the situation despite his continued monitoring of our activities. All in all, I considered the investigation a success. Both my son and I wish to thank the whole PPS team for all their efforts, the evening was informative, eventful and fun!
We had
our first investigation with the new group members and what an
investigation it was. We all met at Molnar's Bar and went down to
Sue's house on January 11, 2008. We broke up into 2 groups and each
one had their opportunity to snap some pictures and try out their
skills. We got awesome pictures and we all worked as a group. I'm
looking forward to doing another investigation with the new team. We
are going up North to a private residence on Feb 2nd. I am real
proud with our new members and I'm sure in the future we will be
getting some awesome evidence.
Keep checking the website for updates. Thank you.

House in Elizabeth, PA May 5, 2007
I'm
just writing to thank you and your team for investigating my house.
When I first contacted you & knew you were coming here I wasn't sure
what to expect.
I'd like to say that you and your group knew what you were looking
for and how to find it.
You were all very friendly and helpful and made me feel at ease.
I liked being able to see what was happening in the various rooms on
the monitor.
I would encourage anyone who feels that they are residing with
spirits to contact you. Linda
