Radiosonde

An instrument that is carried aloft by a balloon to
Send back information on atmospheric temperature,
Pressure and humidity by means of a small,
Expendable radio transmitter.
Radiosondes can be tracked by radar, radio
Direction finding, or navigation systems
(such as the satellite Global Positioning System)
To obtain wind data.

Sue finding the NOAA Radiosconde Box at mile 29.4 Mon River. Weather balloon is still in the water.   NOAA Radiosonde Box just pulled out of the Mon River.   The NOAA Radiosonde Box with chip and wires going to the battery.   Instructions for disabeling the battery and antenna before mailing it to NOAA in Kansas City, Missouri.

The mailing envelope rolled up inside of the NOAA Radiosonde Weather Box.   The plastic envelope that was rolled up inside of the box.

I found it at Mile 29.3 rdb Monongahela River
At Molnar's Marina, Bunola, PA.

I mailed it back to
NOAA- National Weather Service in Kansas City, Missouri
